2017 has brought a lot that we didn't ask for,Devil in Miss Jones 2 (1982) in HD an inordinate amount of which came from Michael Bay. The Transformersproducer – who has over a dozen stories ready for that franchise, let's not forget – will produce a live-action Dora the Explorer movie for reasons as yet unknown.
Nicholas Stoller, who directed The Muppetsand Captain Underpantsbut is better known for movies like Neighbors and Forgetting Sarah Marshall, will pen the script.

The film will be produced by Bay's Platinum Dunes, which specializes in horror films but has partnered with Paramount for hisTransformersand Ninja Turtlesfilms.
The project is still very much in development but aiming to release in 2019. No word yet on who will play Dora, Diego, or – crucially – Boots.
